Engineering Technology Level 5 (In conjunction with IT Tallaght)

Overview

This is a one year full time course leading to a Level 5 QQI Award in Engineering Technology.

This course is run in conjunction with IT Tallaght and one day per week is taken in the Institute of Technology Tallaght.

This course enables the learner to acquire the knowledge, skills and competence in the area of Engineering. These skills would form the basis of any course in engineering which learners might later pursue at a third level institution or on an apprenticeship. Practical workshop sessions form an integral part of the course.

Upon successful completion of this pre-entry course, the learner will be able to progress to Diploma and Degree courses in third level colleges e.g. Institute of Technology Tallaght. Past graduates have also gained employment within the community on completing this course.

Entry Requirements

• Leaving Certificate or equivalent

• Leaving Certificate Applied with a Merit profile

• Mature Applicants – Experience will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications
